Hart County Schools presented with over $793,000 as result of energy saving project

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – The Hart County school district is receiving a huge check as part of an energy-saving project with CMTA.

The school system was presented with a check for over $793,000 as a result of a project that helped reduce their energy use by 52%.

This money comes as part of the Inflation Reduction Act, which helps invest in clean energy production.

That project was an installation of a geothermal well field at Memorial Elementary School in Hardyville, which helps reduce their energy bills and contribute to a cleaner environment.

A representative from CMTA told us this is an amazing opportunity for both the school and himself personally.

“CMTA has been a partner with Hart County Schools for over three years now. It’s been a tremendous opportunity to develop relationships with the team here, and it’s really kind of an altruistic sort of experience for me as an engineer where I’m not only getting to do a job I love, but I’m able to help the local community, I’m able to help students and teachers and we’re helping the environment as well,” Jason Pollan, a project manager with CMTA says.

There’s no word yet on what exactly the school system plans to use this money for, but we’re told it will go into their general fund for use.
