Hank Plona Basketball Camp underway in Diddle Arena
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Camping season continues this week over on the Hill, this time around it’s WKU men’s basketball who’s sharing valuable skills with the local youth.
The 2026 Hank Plona Basketball Camp began Monday morning, the first of three days where instead of watching the Tops play on the floor of Diddle Arena, it’s time for the youngsters to do it themselves.
From drill work to scrimmage games, it’s an entertaining time for everyone involved.
There’s no shortage of energy in the building as the college stars provide insight with the future standouts of the sport.
Of course, it’s fun for the kids in attendance, but the Toppers now turned teachers enjoy the experience also.
“ It’s just so warming to see all these kids come out, and they’re just so happy to see you,” guard Teagan Moore said. “Like, I just signed some kid’s shoe because he told me to, and he was just excited to see me, so it always just warms my heart.”
“I think at the very beginning today, I asked how many of them have been to camp before, and to me it’s always a positive sign when you have young kids returning. That obviously shows that their family and loved ones believe this is a good week for them,” Plona said. “It’s great for our new players and for our team to have experience on the court with them as well.”
