Hampton looking to make instant impact for WKU Football
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Football season is nearing on the Hill, and one new face Tops fans may see this fall is running back Jalen Hampton.
The redshirt junior transferred to WKU after two seasons at Virginia Tech and two seasons at Elon, and he joins a running back room that looks to rise throughout Conference USA after finishing ranked 7th in total rushing yards in 2023.
Hampton spoke recently on what role he looks to fill this season as a new member of the team.
“ I’m anything this team needs me to be. You know, if they need me to go out and catch some passes, get some receiving yards, I’m there to do that. Hard nose football, you know, running between tackles, getting dog yards. I’m there for that,” Hampton said.
“I like to say I’m an everything back. I can do anything. You know, if I need to block for the QB, make sure he’s able to throw under pressure, I mean, not under pressure, make him comfortable in the pocket. I’m there for that. Like I said, I think I’m an everything back.”
