Habitat for Humanity breaks ground on six new homes
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- After several months of delays, Habitat for Humanity of Bowling Green/Warren County broke ground on six new homes for Bowling Green residents on Thursday at 1225 Regis O’Connor Boulevard.
On Thursday, the non-profit is one step closer to helping several families find a place to call home.
Officials say waiting and receiving funding from the state and the Bowling Green community have finally paid off.
It has been trying for all involved, but now the families and Habitat for Humanity workers can finally see their hard work pay off.
“It feels like a giant brick has just fallen off of my back,” said Director of Construction for Habitat for Humanity Kyle Golden. “I know that some of the partner families can echo that. You know, we’ve been just holding tight, holding tight to the promise of starting. And now that we’re finally here, it’s just kind of like a breath of fresh air.”
With the groundbreaking taking place on Thursday, construction on the houses will officially begin on Monday.
The estimated completion date of construction is February or March 2026.
