Guthrie: Name calling on both sides must stop
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- South central Kentucky Rep. Brett Guthrie is responding to President Donald Trump’s controversial tweets over the weekend when he told four United States Congresswomen to leave the country.
The Republican issued the following statement when WNKY asked him about Trump’s tweets:
“I am tired of the rhetoric and name-calling on both sides. We have a crisis at the border, drug prices are skyrocketing, and we’re about to hit the debt ceiling. We need bipartisan solutions to fix these problems. I’m here to work, and I hope my colleagues will put all of this aside and join me.”
On Tuesday, Guthrie voted to oppose a measure in the House of Representatives to condemn President Trump’s tweets.
