(CNN) – More than 120,000 gun safes are being recalled because of faulty biometric systems.

The recall affects gun safes from Bulldog Cades, Machir, Moutec and Awesafe.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the locks on these safes fail to properly secure, allowing them to be opened by unauthorized users.

Dozens of such incidents have been reported.

The safes in question were sold nationwide and online at Amazon.com.

Owners are advised to contact the companies for a replacement safe.
