Ground broken on hospice facility in Glasgow
GLASGOW, Ky.- The ground has been broken on a new hospice facility in Barren County.
On Saturday, community leaders gathered at the site of the future facility.
It will be located at 1060 Glenview Drive in Glasgow.
Once built, the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home will include eight inpatient rooms, kitchen and living spaces and private areas for families and guests. Altogether, it will be just over 10,000 sq. ft.
Last June, the T.J. Community Mission Foundation received a $2 million USDA Rural Economic Development loan through Farmers RECC to aid in the construction of the facility.
Officials say there is a critical need in Barren County for a facility like this.
Construction is expected to take one year to complete.
