Greenwood High School welcomes new head football coach

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Greenwood High School is welcoming new head football coach Tony Adams.
According to a release by GHS, Adams has extensive experience coaching high school football.
He graduated from GHS in 1997 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Mid-Continent University. Following a stint in the business world, Adams obtained a master’s degree in education from the University of the Cumberlands.
Adams is a lifelong resident of Warren County. He and his wife, Valerie, have three children: Tyler, Aden and Adysen. Adams is a full-time teacher in the exceptional education department at GHS.
Adams began his high school coaching career with Greenwood High School, working under Greg Cavannah and staying on with Chris Seabolt. After his initial tenure at GHS, he served as the defensive coordinator at Portland High School for four seasons. In 2020, he returned to GHS as the special teams coordinator and later became the defensive coordinator.
In 2024, he took on the lacrosse varsity program, leading the team to a regional championship during its first season as a KHSAA-sanctioned sport.
