Grayson County man wanted after failure to appear on child sex charges
GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. – A Grayson County man scheduled to be sentenced on multiple child sex charges is now being sought by law enforcement.
According to WNKY News 40 media partner K105, 51-year-old William “Scott” Carter of Millwood failed to show up for his sentencing hearing. Court records state an arrest warrant has been issued for Carter.
K105 reports Carter agreed to a plea deal in mid-July where he would plead guilty to second-degree rape (no force), four counts of third-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse, according to court documents.

In exchange, Carter would serve 13 years in prison.
Carter was slated for sentencing Tuesday morning in Grayson County Circuit Court but failed to appear.
Carter was arrested in February 2024 and charged with first-degree sexual abuse and third-degree rape.
In May 2024, following further investigation, he was indicted on four counts of third-degree rape, second-degree rape (no force) and first-degree sexual abuse.
According to an arrest citation, Carter “disclosed information that he had sexual intercourse with a juvenile victim.”
Carter also told police that “they had sexual relations since July 2023.”
