Graves Gilbert Clinic promotes breast health with special event for employees
BOWLING GREEN, KY.- Graves Gilbert Clinic recently rolled out the pink carpet in a powerful show of support for women’s health.
The clinic hosted a special event that included a fresh breakfast and on-site mammograms for several of its employees. The goal was to raise awareness about the importance of regular screenings, especially annual mammograms.
Dr. Sarath Palakodeti, a breast and cosmetic surgeon, emphasized that breast care starts with simply taking a closer look.
“A mammogram is one of those tests that checks everything,” he explained, highlighting its critical role in preventative care. Whether or not there’s a family history of breast cancer, early detection can make all the difference.
Materials planner, Courtney Herndon, shared her thoughts on self-advocacy, saying, “You’re going to be your biggest advocate to ensure that if something is wrong, you get it looked at.”
Speaking up about health concerns can also uncover other underlying issues early.
Dr. Palakodeti urged women to take ownership of their healthcare journey. He noted that fear often holds people back, but early detection leads to better outcomes.
“You need to start looking,” he said, stressing the importance of not ignoring warning signs.
Events like these serve as a reminder that proactive care saves lives.
