Governor Andy Beshear announces new companies coming to South Central Kentucky
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – In Thursday’s Team Kentucky update, Governor Andy Beshear announced several things that will affect South Central Kentuckians.
“Today in Kentucky, we’ve got a great news day. New jobs coming all over the Commonwealth, a signature employer reinvesting in us, more work on our roads and bridges, reopening them in some places, our kids are safer because we’ve arrested even more child predators,” he said in the update.
Part of that good news includes plenty of investments in the region, as four new businesses are bringing investments.
“Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, creating 76 jobs with a $17.1 million investment in Simpson County, Recycle Service creating 20 jobs with a $4.4 million investment in Warren County. OgMentum ARC creating 24 jobs with a $475,000 investment in Warren County. Quasar Innovations creating 15 jobs in Warren County,” Beshear announced.
The biggest of those is ValorFlex, a veteran owned company that makes flexible packaging, as they will be investing $23.4 million in Warren County, creating 82 new jobs in the process.
“Today is more proof that more and more businesses have realized that Kentucky checks every box. ValorFlex’s new location is a welcome addition to Bowling Green’s booming economy, and I look forward to seeing their success here in Kentucky,” Beshear says.
Another big project across the state involves bridge improvement, with $440,000 going Barren County to improve the bridge on Matthews Mill Road.
“We’re so excited to be able to take that money put into this project here through bridge painting, bridge deck repair, to increase the longevity of this rural road in Barren County that’s highly traveled and has a huge impact on the community here in Barren County. We’re just thankful for the opportunity to be able to take a project to increase the longevity and see the long term effects,” Barren County judge executive Jamie Bewley Byrd said in a video shared during the update.
