Gov. Matt Bevin files for re-election with new running mate
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Republican Gov. Matt Bevin has filed for re-election but this time with a different running mate. Bevin filed paperwork to run for governor this year with Republican state Sen. Ralph Alvarado. Alvarado replaces Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton, who was elected with Bevin in 2015. A spokesman for Bevin said Hampton would serve out the remainder of her term.
