Gov. Andy Beshear orders flags to half-staff for Memorial Day

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Andy Beshear has ordered flags at all state buildings to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until noon Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day.

“On Memorial Day, we gather together to be present and to lift our voices to remember those soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who sacrificed their lives for ours,” said Gov. Beshear. “While we can never repay the debt we owe, it is our duty to lift up the names of those who gave their all for us, not just on Memorial Day but in our daily lives, by showing gratitude and thanks for our freedoms.”
