Gov. Andy Beshear orders flags to half-staff for fallen Kentucky firefighter

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Andy Beshear has ordered flags at all state office buildings to be lowered to half-staff in honor of a Leslie County firefighter who died in the line of duty.

The governor’s office says the tribute begins at sunrise and ends at sunset on Friday, Nov. 3.

Firefighter Regina Huffman of the Coon Creek Volunteer Fire Department in Wooten, Kentucky was killed in a crash while responding to a call on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Friday at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home in Hyden. Interment will follow at Rock Branch Cemetery in Yeaddiss.

Beshear encourages all individuals to participate in this tribute.
