Gov. Andy Beshear announces funding for new addition to Barren County YMCA
GLASGOW, Ky. – The Barren County YMCA is getting some additional funding for a new project.
The Y, along with the City of Glasgow, will receive $750,000 to build an addition to the main building.
This will house their senior citizen meal & exercise programs. Governor Andy Beshear addressed this new addition along with multiple other projects across the commonwealth.
He says this project is one of the most important that was announced.
“When we talk about building a better Kentucky for all our families, that means we have to support our seniors. We’re excited to support programs that make sure no senior goes hungry and that help them stay active and healthy,” Beshear says.
Glasgow mayor Henry Royse says the senior program at the Y is tremendous and Governor Beshear mentioned this addition will only help further the successes they are already seeing.
