GO BG offering free rides to vets in November

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-Starting in November Go BG Transit will begin offering free rides to veterans in Bowling Green.

On Friday, veterans will be able to use all of the Go BG Transit services for free until the end of the month.

It’s an initiative that Go BG does each year to give back to those who have given so much for this country.

The transit provider offers six bus routes to most of the popular destinations in Bowling Green including; Greenwood Mall, Western Kentucky University, Fountain Square and the Convention Center.

The transportation director at Go BG explained why they continue to offer this free service to veterans each year.

“It’s just a way of giving back to the community and honoring those who have served our country. We provide the service to them so that they can ride free. They could either ride our fixed bus routes, or they could ride our Go To service if they’re a client. If they need to become a client, it gives them the opportunity to apply for that,” said Carroll Duckworth.
