Glasgow’s Scotties celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week early

GLASGOW, Ky. – This first week of May is Teacher Appreciation week, and students at one Glasgow school did not disappoint.

Glasgow High School has a social and emotional committee. Those staff members make sure teachers feel appreciated by their peers and the students

The high school celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week early this year, and boy did they go all out.

Throughout the week, teachers walked into fresh fruit and homemade biscuits, catered Subway, balloons, and their own Hawaiian leis.

Teachers were also showered with ‘Coffee and Compliments’ where students filled out google forms with compliments for their teachers.

Glasgow High School teacher of 18 years Lisa Bartley says, “Anytime people can acknowledge teachers and their contributions and just say thank you, or I see you or I appreciate what you’re doing, that goes a long way, especially here at the end of the school year… just bringing that little Joy to teachers every day.”

Bartley says in her almost two decades at Glasgow High School, these little acts always go a long way, especially after teaching through challenges like the pandemic.
