Glasgow’s historic Plaza Theatre featured as 1 of 12 Fascinating Historic Kentucky Theaters
GLASGOW, Ky. – One of the most iconic pieces of the Square in downtown Glasgow is being recognized in a unique way.
The Plaza Theatre is listed as one of 12 Fascinating Historic Kentucky Theaters in a recent Kentucky Tourism article.
The Plaza is approaching its 90th year, and still host many artists, including country rock band Parmalee, who took the stage Friday night.
Glasgow mayor Henry Royse is excited to see the Plaza get the recognition he believes it deserves.
“It went through a time period where nobody was doing anything with it. It was becoming kind of dilapidated, but the city bought it. The city says ‘We need to have this in pristine shape.’ The people that were involved from the council… Mayor Honeycutt was involved in that… a lot of the others who are on the Plaza board said this is worth taking care of,” he says.
The Capitol Theater in Bowling Green is also included on this list.
