Glasgow’s got it going on: where to go this holiday season
GLASGOW, Ky.- This holiday season, many cities around south-central Kentucky are stepping up their game when it comes to preparing for the festive season.
In Glasgow, the city is offering a variety of exciting events to help locals get into the holiday spirit. The 46th Annual Turkey Trot will kick things off with a fun run, followed by a bustling Christmas Market and the highly anticipated Light Up the Square event in the evening.
Not only will residents be able to enjoy the festivities but they’ll also have the chance to support local businesses.
Barren County judge-executive Jamie Byrd encourages everyone to take part, saying, “Run the Turkey Trot in the morning to get you ready for Thanksgiving, then shop all afternoon at the Sip, Shop, and Stroll on the Square.”
The event is expected to be a magical experience, with Byrd describing it last year as “like a Hallmark Christmas movie.” As the holiday season continues, News 40 will keep you updated on all the upcoming events and celebrations happening across the region. This season promises to bring plenty of joy and community spirit to the area.
The turkey trot will begin on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7:15 a.m. Then at 1 p.m. the Sip, Shop and Ho Ho Ho Christmas Market will be on the North and East side of the square and at 5 p.m. Light up Glasgow will begin, where you can even take a photo with Santa.
