Glasgow woman charged with theft, burglary
GLASGOW, Ky. – One person is facing charges in an alleged theft case.
The Glasgow Police Department says it responded on Dec. 7 to Walmart for a report of a female subject that had previously been banned from entering the store.
Upon arrival, police say they made contact with Megan Burchett and confirmed she was banned from the store.
In addition, police Burchett had an active warrant for her arrest.
After speaking with Burchett, police say she stated she was aware she had been banned from the store.
Authorities say during a search, they learned Burchett possessed stolen items in her sweatshirt.
Burchett of Glasgow was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition shoplifting and third-degree burglary.
She was transported to the Barren County Detention Center.
