GLASGOW, Ky. – The Barren County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a collision involving a Glasgow Police Department cruiser.

BCSO Detective Adam Bow says the office responded to the intersection of Simmons Street and Frazier Avenue just after 8 am on Sunday.

According to a release, BCSO’s investigation states that a vehicle driven by Brittany Runyon, 35, of Glasgow, failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into a Glasgow Police Department cruiser. Officer Jeffery Walker, who was on patrol, drove the cruiser.

Bow says Runyon and Walker were both treated for minor injuries at TJ Samson Community Hospital and released.

The release states that Runyon was distracted by her cell phone and collided with the cruiser.

She is charged with disregarding a stop sign, communication device violation, wanton endangerment in the first degree, criminal mischief in the first degree, failure to produce an insurance card, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence (aggravated circumstances).
