Glasgow teen charged in reported school bus theft

GLASGOW, Ky. – A Glasgow teen is facing charges after allegedly stealing a school bus.
According to a uniform citation, Glasgow police responded Saturday afternoon to a Dollar General off of Edmonton Road regarding a stolen school bus.
Authorities say they spoke with the superintendent of Glasgow Independent Schools, Chad Muhlenkamp, who stated he had been contacted about the bus being found in the Dollar General Parking lot.
Police say the bus had scratches on the back, passenger side and front area.
Muhlenkamp stated he viewed the GPS on the bus and saw it had been started just after 4:30 a.m., authorities say.
According to the citation, security camera footage shows 18-year-old Taysean Barlow of Glasgow enter the bus before driving it.
Authorities say Barlow stated he knew they were there for him “because of the bus.”
Barlow was arrested and transported to the Barren County Detention Center.
He faces charges of theft by unlawful taking or disposition auto between $10,000 nd $1,000,000, second-degree criminal mischief, unlawful possession of a weapon on school property and operating on a suspended or revoked operators license.
