Glasgow Pride Festival announces return for 3rd annual celebration

GLASGOW, Ky. — The organizers of Glasgow Pride are announcing the official return of the Glasgow Pride Festival, scheduled for May 31 at Beaver Creek Park.
This is the third year of the festival, according to organizers, who describe the event as a celebration for “the LGBTQ+ community, their families and allies throughout south-central Kentucky.”
This year’s theme is “Small Town, Big Pride!”, according to Glasgow Pride. The organization says the theme is to highlight its commitment to “fostering a community where every resident feels safe, seen and celebrated.”
“Our mission is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive authentically,” says Laura Burks, director of marketing. “By bringing the festival back to Beaver Creek Park, we are continuing to build a tradition of joy and equity right here in Barren County.”
The event will include the celebration, which will feature food trucks, informational vendors and community resources.
In addition, a lineup of local artists will provide live entertainment.
Organizers say other activities will include yard games, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, face painting and access to the park’s playground and bike paths.
Glasgow Pride says it is currently seeking informational vendors, food and drink vendors, volunteers and sponsors that wish to show support.
