Glasgow police provide winter driving safety tips
GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department is offering tips for driving during winter conditions.
Prepare your vehicle
- Check your tire tread and air pressure
- Check all fluid levels and keep your gas tank full
- Prepare a first-aid kit, blankets, water and snacks
GPD says plan your travel, check the weather and road conditions, allow extra time and drive carefully
Protect yourself if you are involved in a crash
- If you are involved in a crash and no one is injured, move your vehicle to the shoulder of the road or off the interstate/parkway
- Call the police
- Exchange information
Share the road with snowplows
- Be patient and don’t pass the plow
- Stay back and give the plow room to work and don’t crowd the plow
