Glasgow Police officers presented ‘Life Saving Medal’
GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department presented three Officers with the Life Saving Medal in regard to an incident that took place on June 25th 2021.
On June 25, 2021, officers were dispatched to assist an unresponsive motorist at a busy intersection.
Sgt. Michael Burgan, Sgt. Steven Fields and Officer Joshua Hardin determined a male driver was stopped in traffic, slumped over behind the wheel, unresponsive and having no pulse.
Officers worked quickly to remove the driver from the vehicle and place him on the ground so they could administer CPR.
After EMS arrived and took over patient care, they removed the driver’s vehicle, secured his property and cleared the scene.
The patient was transported to T J Samson Hospital by EMS for treatment. Sgt. Fields was advised by EMS and TJ Samson Emergency Room personnel that if it had not been for the immediate lifesaving efforts of the officers on scene, the motorist would most likely not have survived.
These officers’ quick thinking and lack of hesitation to administer critical lifesaving aid likely saved the motorist’s life.
