Glasgow Police Department, Animal Control accepting donations for family who lost house in fire
GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department, along with Glasgow-Barren County Animal Control, are accepting donations for a local city employee and her family who lost their house in a fire over the weekend.
On Sunday, the employee’s house caught fire, resulting in extensive damage and the loss of two bedrooms and their cat.
Once they identified the assistance the woman and her family needed, both the police department and animal control got to work getting donations.
The need for clothing, furniture and any other monetary donations was put onto social media, and since then, the police department has received an abundance of donations for the woman and their family.
The community of Glasgow has once again rallied behind one of its own and her family in a time where they needed it the most.
“Any time that we’ve reached out for any kind of assistance or help, they’ve come through, you know, from day one, this situation is no different,” said Terry Flatt, major at the Glasgow Police Department.
Numerous donations for the family have already been brought in, and Glasgow PD is also in the process of finding them temporary housing in the next couple of weeks. Donations can be dropped off at the Glasgow Police Department located at 101 Pin Oak Lane and the animal control office at 175 Trojan Trail.
