Glasgow Police Department and River Lake Church hand out hope and holiday blessings
GLASGOW, Ky.- The Glasgow Police Department and River Lake Church joined together to bring blessings to the Glasgow community.
The volunteers recognize that times aren’t easy, and the financial burdens become heavier during the holidays. Officers pulled people over, but instead of giving them a ticket, the church gave drivers $100.
Amy Reece, a volunteer from River Lake Church, describes her experience as a blessing and the opportunity to see the police differently.
Reece says, “We’re very thankful to our police department, for our safety, and today, getting to ride with them and you kind of appreciate them more.”
The season of giving was well and alive Monday night through the kind actions of River Lake Church and the Glasgow Police Department.
Reece says, “Just to give back to people giving out $100 instead of getting a ticket. I think that’s awesome, but, you know, everybody’s so appreciative. Everything is so high inflation, and I think anybody could use an extra hundred dollars this Christmas.”
