Glasgow police conducting traffic safety checkpoints starting Oct. 4

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department is conducting traffic safety checkpoints within city limits starting this Friday through the rest of the month.

According to a release by the department, checkpoints will be located at but not limited to Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road.

During the checkpoints, police say they will enforce laws related to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, licensing of motor vehicles and operators, registration and insurance violations, seat belt and child restraint violations and motor vehicle equipment violations.

Police say the checkpoints promote safety and provide officers interaction with the community.
