Glasgow police conducting traffic safety checkpoints in June

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department will be out conducting traffic safety checkpoints starting this Friday, June 6 and continuing through the end of the month.
Police say the safety checkpoints will include but not be limited to Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road.
During the checkpoints, officers say they will be enforcing laws related to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, licensing of motor vehicles and operators, registration and insurance, seat belt and child restraint and motor vehicle equipment violations.
Officials say these checkpoints are used to promote safety of the public and to provide police with visibility and interaction with the community.
