GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department is conducting safety checkpoints through the end of July.

According to police, the safety checkpoints will include but not be limited to Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road.

During the checkpoints, officers say they will be enforcing laws related to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, licensing of motor vehicles and operators, registration and insurance, seat belt and child restraints and motor vehicle equipment violations.

Police say traffic safety checkpoints are used to promote safety and well-being of the public as well as providing police with visibility and interaction within the community.
