Glasgow man wins $50,000 on scratch-off ticket

GLASGOW, Ky. – Last Friday, Elvis Roberts of Glasgow bought a ticket at a vending machine at the Five Star on Cave Mill Road in Bowling Green.

Roberts scratched off the ticket to find the number 26 at the bottom, winning a $50,000 prize on a $2,000,000 Diamond Dazzler Scratch-off ticket.

He scratched of the ticket at the store, but didn’t see the big win right away. It wasn’t until he was at work that he went back out to his truck and checked the ticket for a second time.

“I didn’t believe it at first. I checked it using the app on my phone and once I scanned it, I saw what it was. I was pretty excited,” Roberts said. “I couldn’t believe it. I was in shock.”

On Monday, he received a check for $35,500, after taxes. He told officials he and his wife plan to pay off bills and are looking to purchase a house on the lake and that the extra money will help.

Five Star will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
