GLASGOW, Ky. – A Glasgow man has pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge following a reported stabbing in March 2024.

According to court records, 28-year-old Dedontae Morrison of Glasgow pleaded guilty on Monday to first-degree manslaughter and tampering with physical evidence.

This follows after the Barren County Sheriff’s Office says it began an investigation on March 28, 2024 when 55-year-old Robert Fields of Glasgow was found dead with stab wounds.

Deputies say Morrison was identified as a suspect and later told detectives he had stabbed the victim in the victim’s room.

Morrison was initially charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence. However, court records state the murder charge was amended to first-degree manslaughter.

Court documents state the Commonwealth recommends a 15-year sentence in prison for Morrison.

He is scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 5 at 9 a.m., according to court records.
