Glasgow man facing felony drug charges after traffic stop

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Barren River Drug Task Force arrested a Glasgow man Tuesday following a traffic stop.

Law enforcement stopped William Aubrey, 35, in Glasgow, according to a release from the task force. Police said Aubrey acted nervous during the stop and they asked for consent to search his vehicle which he declined.

Barren County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Merc alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle which led to a search. Detectives said they found 31 ounces of crystal methamphetamine in the car along with cash and drug paraphernalia, according to the release.

A Glasgow police officer said he found an additional ounce of methamphetamine in the police cruiser after taking Aubrey to the Barren County Detention Center, according to the release.

Aubrey is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offence, possession of drug paraphernalia, no registration plates and tampering with evidence. The investigation remains open.
