GLASGOW, Ky. – A Glasgow man is facing multiple charges in connection with a sexual abuse investigation.

According to a uniform citation, 32-year-old Kyle Ankney of Glasgow was arrested Wednesday, July 9 on charges of first-degree rape, victim under 12 years of age, first-degree sodomy, victim under 12 years of age, and incest with a person less than 12 years of age.

The Barren County Sheriff’s Office says in late June, it responded for a sexual abuse complaint.

Upon arrival, deputies say they spoke with a child, who reported sexual encounters had been occurring with an adult male.

On July 2, authorities say they spoke to Ankney in Allen County.

Deputies say Ankney agreed to speak with them and confirmed most of the statements the child had provided but did not admit to sexual contact.

On July 9, authorities say Ankney was transported to the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, where they say he admitted to having sexual intercourse with the child.

Ankney remains at the Barren County Detention Center.
