Glasgow man charged with credit card fraud
GLASGOW, Ky. – A Glasgow man is facing charges related to credit card fraud.
According to a uniform citation, an officer responded just before noon on June 13 in reference to a male subject at the Glasgow Police Department requesting to file a theft report.
Police say the victim stated his debit and social security cards were stolen from his wallet, showing fraudulent transactions from his bank.
Authorities say one transaction was for over $900 at Rural King.
Police say they viewed camera footage at Rural King, which showed a male subject leaving with a chainsaw and clothing. Authorities say these items were purchased using the victim’s bank card.
After responding to AutoZone in Glasgow for another fraudulent charge, authorities say they learned the name used was Landon Hammer.
Police say they identified the subject as 19-year-old Hurshel Landon Hammer.
Authorities say Hammer was lodged at the Barren County Detention Center for a previous incident.
Due to the prior incident and fraudulent transactions, Hammer is charged with fraudulent use of a credit card between $1,000 and $10,000, along with first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), first-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), disregarding a stop sign, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense, second-degree wanton endangerment (police officer), second-degree wanton endangerment and no operators moped license.
