Glasgow man charged after shots fired complaint
GLASGOW, Ky. – A Glasgow man is facing multiple charges in relation to a shot fired complaint on Wednesday.
According to a uniform citation, the Glasgow Police Department responded to the 300 block of McKenna Street for a report of shots fired and a male subject running down the street.
Police say while searching the area, dispatch received another call from the area that a male subject had struck the caller and ran.
Police say they made contact with the caller, identified as Joey Huff, 37, of Glasgow.
Huff stated he was in “a physical altercation” with another male subject a few minutes prior to police arriving at the scene, police say.
During the altercation, the citation states Huff stated the male subject and his friend were walking down McKenna Street toward Simmons Street when Huff retrieved a a rifle and exited his residence, firing one round in the direction of the other male subjects.
Huff was detained and stated he had been drinking since getting home about five hours prior.
Police say they located an empty 18-pack of Bud Light in the trash can of Huff’s front porch. They additionally found a used shell casing in the roadway nearby.
Huff remains at the Barren County Detention Center. He is charged with wanton endangerment, first offense – discharge of firearm and alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense.
