Glasgow man arrested after police pursuit

GLASGOW, Ky.- A man is under arrest following a vehicle pursuit that started in Glasgow.

According to Glasgow police, officers responded to the Little Work Acres Trailer Park in reference to someone beating on the door with a gun.

Police said the driver, later identified as Tony Paul Harper Jr., 26, left the trailer park in a vehicle. Officers quickly located the vehicle traveling on Columbia Avenue.

Police said they attempted to stop Harper, but he failed to stop.

Harper reached speeds in excess of 120 mph, traveling into Metcalfe County, according to police.

The pursuit ended at the intersection of Node Road and Seven Springs Church Road, when police said Harper crashed into a road sign.

According to police, Harper then ran off, but was apprehended.

He’s charged with multiple crimes, including reckless driving, first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree unlawful imprisonment.

He’s lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
