EDMONTON, Ky. – A Glasgow man is charged with driving under the influence following a wreck in Metcalfe County.

According to a uniform citation, the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office responded Monday just after 8:40 p.m. to a two-vehicle injury accident on Spradlin Road.

Authorities say 23-year-old Ryan Kennie of Glasgow was identified as the driver of one of the vehicles involved.

Deputies say the driver of the other vehicle involved was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital due to an injury from the collision.

Authorities say they detected the odor of alcoholic beverages coming from Kennie while speaking with him. Kennie was unsteady on his feet and slurring his speech but denied drinking, according to the citation.

Kennie was arrested.

During a vehicle search, deputies say they located a small amount of suspected marijuana, a suspected THC vape pen and multiple alcoholic drink containers, including an open beer.

Following medical clearance, Kennie was transported to the Barren County Detention Center.

He faces charges of second-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/substance, second offense, and possession of marijuana.
