Glasgow man accused of murder in daughter’s death

GLASGOW, Ky. – Kentucky State Police charged a Glasgow man with murder Tuesday following the death of his daughter in a May wreck.

Troopers served an arrest warrant on Christopher McCoy, 32, of Glasgow on a charge of driving under the influence second offense aggravated circumstances and murder, KSP Trooper Daniel Priddy said.

The charges are related to a May 10 wreck on Coral Hill Road in Barren County.

McCoy was driving east on Coral Hill Road in a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado when he was unable to negotiate a curve and the vehicle briefly exited the right shoulder of the roadway. McCoy over corrected causing his vehicle to cross both lanes of travel and exit the left shoulder of the roadway, Priddy said. The truck hit several trees before coming to a final rest.

He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. His 10-year-old daughter died at the scene.

McCoy is lodged in the Barren County Detention Center. An arraignment in the case is scheduled for Sept. 10, according to Barren Circuit Court records.
