Glasgow Independent Schools receive surprise, anonymous donation for the arts

GLASGOW Ky.-The arts in schools tend to struggle due to a lack of funding. The Glasgow Independent School District received a donation that was just over $15,000. The only condition is that the money be used to focus on the school’s arts programs, including visual arts, performing arts, and the musical arts.

The source of the donation is being kept anonymous. The schools have agreed to use this money for its intended purpose. Art instructors like Glasgow High School Choral Director Sarah Shepherd are thrilled to have this extra funding.

“It’s hard to put into words how exciting that is. I’m very excited thinking about the many benefits that hopefully will help for students currently and in the future,” Shepherd said.

Shepherd said the donation money has already been put to good use. Glasgow High School just purchased a brand-new piano with that money.
