Glasgow High School Scotties REACH program makes a return

GLASGOW, Ky.- With the Glasgow Scotties slowly but surely making a return, so is a Glasgow high school program.

The Glasgow High School Scotties REACH program funded through the 21st century grant reopened Monday.

This afterschool program has the focus of academic acceleration and homework help, in addition to varying community service projects. Because of COVID-19, the game plan of the reach program has changed.

The last project involved the students making blankets for hospice patients. Kits were sent home with the students so the blankets could be made at home. Director of the REACH program Terry Smith says this is very beneficial for those who participate.

Smith says once COVID-19 numbers are more under control, a potential plan is to have the Scotties the Glasgow Feeding America site.
