Glasgow Fire Department’s Russell C. Francis Substation celebrates 50 years

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Fire Department’s Russell C. Francis Substation is recognizing decades of service to the community.
According to a social media post on Friday by the Glasgow Fire Department, the Russell C. Francis Substation first opened in 1975.
The substation was named to honor longtime chief Russell C. Francis, the post says, who served as chief for 26 years.
The station honors his “dedication, leadership and the generations of firefighters who followed his example,” according to Glasgow Fire. The substation can be found at 130 Cross St. in Glasgow.
Congratulations on reaching 50 years of protecting the community!
