Glasgow City Council addresses land purchase on Veterans Outer Loop
GLASGOW, Ky. – At Tuesday’s Glasgow City Council meeting, members discussed the sale of a piece of land currently owned by Farmers RECC.
The property discussed is along Veterans Outer Loop and New Bowling Green Road (KY 68/80), and is 19.5 acres.
Also discussed was moving $7.6 million from a projects fund to purchase additional land.
The land owned by Farmers RECC costs over $750,000.
As for what the city plans to use this land for, it’s still up in the air right now, but Mayor Henry Royse says the public will have a chance to see some potential renderings on what the future may hold.
“There will be a way where they can write down questions that they might have or something, and we’ll all be in the committee… we’ll be in this room to answer questions… we’ll say ‘Okay, this is what this is about, this is what that is about.’ We have not been able to say a word because we’ve been doing due diligence,” he says.
That meeting will take place on December 3rd from 6 to 8 p.m. at Glasgow City Hall inside the council chambers.
News 40 will keep you updated on what the plans are for this new plot of land.
