BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana invites school-aged girls and their families for a free open house on Saturday, Nov. 8 .

The organization says the event will take place at Camp Houchens in Bowling Green. While there, families and potential future Girl Scouts can discover how they can build courage, confidence and character.

Current Girl Scouts are also encouraged to join and bring a friend.

The open house will introduce families to skill-building opportunities available through Girl Scouts. Attendees will participate in a variety of camp activities, including:

• Making fun crafts.
• Enjoying s’mores around the campfire.
• Learning to shoot slingshots.
• Exploring the hiking trails on guided nature hikes.
• Playing games, singing songs and more.

All participating girls will receive a free patch. Active Girl Scouts who bring a friend will also receive a “Bring-a-Friend” patch.

The organization says all children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is required.
