Girl Scouts make cards encouraging adoption of shelter pets!

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Girl Scout Troop 186 brought girls from 1st-4th grades to the Bowling Green, Warren County Humane Society. Together, these girls made some cards for some of the animals looking for their forever home!

One particular coonhound has been at the shelter for several months and got his own card! His name is Raider, and we’ve featured him a few times as News’ 40’s Pet of the Day.

Sadly, that hasn’t helped him find his forever home just yet. But thanks to the kindness of these girls and the love they showed him, Raider might just be that much closer to finding his forever family.

Here’s what the shelter has told us about Raider:

“Raider is a handsome and quirky Coonhound who’s wandered through some tough times but is still full of life and love. As a stray, Raider’s been fending for himself, but now he’s ready to find a home where he can finally rest his paws. Raider’s deep, booming howl is hard to miss—whether he’s announcing his presence or letting you know he’s on the trail of something exciting, he’s never shy about expressing himself!

What makes Raider truly special is his uniquely crooked head, which gives him an irresistible charm. We’re not sure how it came to be, but it’s part of what makes Raider so memorable and lovable. It doesn’t slow him down, and in fact, it adds to his character, making him stand out in the best way possible.

Despite his rough start, Raider is gentle at heart and would thrive in a home that appreciates his houndy nature. He’ll need plenty of space to stretch his legs and a family who doesn’t mind a little extra noise when he’s feeling vocal. If you’re ready for an adventurous, loyal companion with a voice as big as his heart, Raider is ready to join your pack!”

Raider is sponsored, which means he has a discounted adoption fee.
