Gingerbread Homes for the Arts kicks off Christmas
BOWLING GREEN Ky.-The Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center is getting festive for a holiday filled week.
Sunday marked the start of the Gingerbread Homes for the Arts Festival, and it started with a gingerbread house contest.
Monday, local students came in to work with the Western Kentucky University Department of Theater and Dance to teach the students of the importance and impact of the arts. This event was sponsored by the Realtor’s Association of Southern Kentucky.
Throughout this week, SKYPAC will be holding various Christmas events and shows. Those at SKYPAC said this is a great way to get the Christmas season started.
“I think it’s great to kick off the Christmas season with this. A lot of people have made this their kickoff. Our idea is to bring the community in to kick off the holidays,” said SKYPAC director of education Tiffany Deaton.
