Gas prices rise over the two-dollar mark in South Central Kentucky

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Gas prices are on the rise in South Central Kentucky. According to Triple-A, prices have risen eight cents per gallon in the last week.

The average price in our region is back over the two-dollar mark.

In Bowling Green, the average price is around $2.11.

Statewide, prices are up seven cents a gallon this week and on the national front, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline is $2.25.

According to Triple-A, with winter weather pounding much of the region and fewer motorists on the road, gasoline demand has the potential to drop. However, as crude oil prices continue to climb, it does not look like pump prices will drop much lower than we’ve seen so far this year.
