Christmas Day gas prices expected to be lowest in four years

(CNN) – As millions of Americans hit the road for Christmas, they can expect a nice gift at the gas station.

Drivers will likely be greeted at the pump with the cheapest Christmas Day gas prices since 2020.

GasBuddy, an app that crowd-sources pump prices, expects a national average of $3.01 per gallon on Wednesday.

This is a modest dip from the $3.10 last year.

Still, it’s more than the cost of fuel before COVID.

The national average on Christmas Day in 2019 was $2.54.
