Further details released on fire at Memphis Junction Road

BOWLING GREEN Ky. – On Sunday night, the house at 1042 Memphis Junction Road in Bowling Green burned.

Browning Fire Department responded, but since the structure fire quickly devolved into two separate fires, they had to work while backup from stations such as Woodburn and Plano were on the way. The initial structure fires spread across to an adjacent house, which necessitated two lines of fighting from the responders.

The structure was home to what Browning fire chief Keith Lockhart said were “several generations of law enforcement.” This meant that there was a great deal of ammunition in the home’s garage, which began cooking off in the fire, making the scene all the more confusing and difficult to manage for the first responders.

“You don’t know where it’s going, where exactly it’s coming from at all times and it keeps you on your toes and makes it kind of uneasy at times,” Lockhart said.
