Fundraising season kicks off for local charity
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A local charity that provides temporary financial assistance to families with chronically-ill children or parents kicked off fundraising season with a ribbon-cutting. Life’s Better Together held a ceremony in downtown Bowling Green on Wednesday and along with cookies and coffee, Santa Claus even paid a visit.
Life’s Better Together raises money through various ways, including accepting direct donations. Today’s event was to open registration for the Miracle On College Street Mile, which will also provide proceeds that can be distributed to local families.
Director Danette Idelett said the idea for the organization came about after her first husband became ill. She said she wanted other families to feel more secure when they were dealing with a family illness.
Since 2015, Life’s Better Together has given out more than $230,000.
